"YakuZen", which combines biotechnology developed at a university with natural materials, is an organic fertilizer that applies the principles of Oriental medicine to soil. The "local production and consumption compost system" uses this method to blend regional waste, converting it into high-performance, safe fertilizer to improve soil. We use locally consumed raw materials (local consumption) to regenerate local soil (local production). It is Organic JAS certified.
Jury's Evaluation
This project integrates traditional knowledge with modern biotechnology to convert organic waste into safe fertilizer. The design thoughtfully enhances accessibility, enabling more individuals to adopt the fertilizer for planting and farming, while encouraging participation in recycling local resources. It is commendable for its innovative approach that transcends traditional agricultural practices and demonstrates how design can redefine the relationship between production and consumption.
