Taipei MRT has been operating for more than 27 years, and new services and facilities are increasingly added, causing the station environment to face system integration problems. This optimization uses Zhongshan Station as a demonstration point. While using some equipment, the services provided by the MRT are integrated to improve the service experience. The concept of a strip-shaped service box is proposed to meet all space requirements, eliminate structural vision, and organize circulation。
Jury's Evaluation
The Taipei MRT Zhongshan Station redesign project proposed feasible and effective solutions to address the system integration challenges that accumulated over time. Consistency was achieved in the facilities, space design, and lighting, demonstrating high design standards. The modular design structure also took into consideration the application possibilities for other stations in the future. This sets a benchmark for the progress of public space design in Taiwan.
