For YODEX 2024, we highlight "Beyond Sustainability" by borrowing and repurposing materials like wood, bricks, and metal pipes. These materials are assembled into structures that can be dismantled and returned for recycling. Examples include red brick pallets stacked into walls and standard boards secured with Velcro on timber bases. Lounge chairs are made from metal tubes and foam scraps. This reduces waste and promotes the idea of prolonging the life of resources.
Jury's Evaluation
For the Young Designers' Exhibition 2024, the existing specifications and properties of industrial raw materials were skillfully put into use. Flexible techniques were used in both assembly and breakdown to create a multifunctional exhibition space. This showcased the innovative thinking that went into the structural design while responding eloquently to the exhibition’s theme. The selection of materials and use of colors were tasteful and offered a type of broadly applicable design thinking that can inspire the creative possibilities of different fields.
