Integrating architectural courses, this design guides students and residents through participatory design and collaborative construction. Using recycled containers, it translates Ma-Tsuo’s local culture—grapes, swimming, scouting—into the Reading Nook’s spatial narrative. Breaking from tradition, this process of co-creation and learning-by-doing establishes a sustainable 'social-educational production field' that builds community consciousness and revitalizes local connections.
Jury's Evaluation
Grounded in co-creation and hands-on making, the project brings together education, community, and diverse local resources to form a shared space that supports both learning and placemaking. It demonstrates remarkable creativity within limited conditions and shows how design can strengthen community bonds and spark new forms of collective innovation.
