A Transparent Cultural Forest of Freedom, Aesthetics, Knowledge Flow-Taichung Green Museumbrary is Taiwan's first venue combining a municipal art museum and library. Composed of multiple volumes, it embodies openness, transparency, and fluidity. The building creates a public space of varied heights and depths where convergence and dispersion coexist. Here, learning blends with life, forming a place where knowledge, art, and nature meet, dissolve boundaries, and merge into a dynamic experience.
Jury's Evaluation
Grounded in the concepts of openness and spatial fluidity, the project deftly merges the functions of a library and an art museum—blurring boundaries while preserving clarity of purpose. Its understated exterior contrasts with the richness within, presenting a fresh take on contemporary public architecture and suggesting new possibilities for future cultural spaces in the city.
