Lightdome Cafe is a café and retail space at Shanghai Science and Technology Museum. Positioned beneath an escalator before a robotics-themed exhibition, it turns a compressed site into a narrative prelude to the exhibition journey. Inspired by the sun as symbol of time, a recyclable stainless-steel arch with warm-toned acrylic integrates counter, retail display and concealed storage. The reflective marble floor completes the arch as a full sun, while integrated lighting creates an evening glow.
