ChewingBeat employs music tempo as cues to influence eating speed. We focus on the influence of music on people’s diet-related behaviors, especially the chewing speed. In this design, ChewingBeat earphones use music rhythm as a contextual cue to modulate rhythmic chewing speed. The earphones integrate three types of sensors: PPG (Photoplethysmography), blood flow of the ear concha, and microphone. This innovative product for biological rhythm regulation provides a new solution to mitigate unhealthy chewing habits and promote mindful, slower eating pace.
