Set in Karuizawa forests, this project explores architecture mediating human and nature. Developed over a decade, it forms part of a landscape with dog-friendly facilities and open spaces. Rather than dissolving boundaries, it frames them, allowing forest to pass through while maintaining enclosure. A three-layered roof brings soft daylight, creating calm atmosphere. Using simple timber and local craftsmanship, with minimal concrete and metal, the project shows how modest means produce response.
