"A MOVIE A DAY" is Taiwan’s first film-themed desk calendar produced by film critic media "FILMAHOLIC". With one film per day, it brings the big screen experience to real life, allowing film fans to live different lives through 365 films. The overall design revolves around the concept of "film black box" in a rare black landscape format. The cover is printed on black paper with gradient silver ink, simulating film frames and the light source of a projector. At the same time, it pays tribute to the line from Edward Yang's “YI YI": "The invention of cinema has extended our lives by three times", showcasing the enriched and extended life brought by films. To enhance the black imagery, the top is bound with black cloth tape, and the sides are brushed black with artificial screen printing. One side features the hollowed-out phrase "SUN, WATER, AIR, MOVIE," explaining that movies, like sunlight, air, and water, are indispensable in our lives, providing annotations to the lives of film enthusiasts. The background of each page is printed in black to simulate the cinema environment, and the illustrations are drawn in the widescreen 2.35:1 aspect ratio. Twelve illustrators reinterpret the brilliance and creativity of films from their perspectives. There are connections between the dates and films, such as the classic "City of Sadness" directed by Hou Hsiao-Hsien, is on February 28th to highlight the historical meaning. The torn-off calendar pages can be stored in the outer box. The box is made of black cardboard, and on the top, champagne silver foil is used to stamp twelve lines symbolizing the twelve months, presenting the projection of light and shadow from the back to screen in a cinema, allowing the lingering memories of films and fans to surpass the calendar's expiry date.
