We established a system to reward outstanding product design with the goal of promoting a nation-wide emphasis on “good product design,” and implemented a professional selection process to encourage manufacturers to develop and design new products.

In an unprecedented move, when we decided to retool the name, logo, and slogan of the outstanding product design award, we opened up the selection process to involve the public in the movement to recognize and appreciate good product design.

Since 2005, participants who were granted the right to use GD-Mark have been able to submit entries to the National Design Award.

A simple, easy-to-understand and easy-to-remember title with a global orientation—via an open name selection process followed by an open voting and discussions by a panel of experts in a campaign to turn the Golden Pin into a world-class design award.

Elevated the stature of Chinese design. During the first year that our call for projects included those from abroad, we emphasized design quality and recognized outstanding performance among independent designers and professionals in the design industry, providing an opportunity for the global market to experience their design strengths.
