Traditional straw sandals are the work shoes that Penghu people used to collect food in the intertidal zone in the early days. They are used to prevent slippery walking. The shoes are made of grass and are easily damaged by friction with reefs after long-term use. Although straw sandals are consumables, they are also a way for Penghu people to connect with the sea essentials. Since the rise of the petrochemical industry, the public has been eager for durable plastic shoes, which has greatly reduced the demand for straw sandals, and this traditional craft has gradually disappeared. To do the experience activities of traditional straw sandal crafts, it takes 6 hours to weave a pair of straw sandals. It is not easy to effectively promote this traditional craft culture to children and tourists. Therefore, we designed a weaving card material package, which includes a paper card, wires, hand-painted stickers for objects in the intertidal zone, an envelope bag, and a small card with a link to the teaching video. You can easily learn this straw sandal weaving technique through a 10-minute teaching video. When you are done, you can use the stickers and an envelope to send the card you wove to your friends. Using cards as a medium to convey culture is not limited by the time and space of experience. With this straw sandal weaving material package product, it conveys the craft of Penghu people who live by the sea, and also conveys the blessing of " Have a safe journey" to friends.
