This secluded dwelling nestled amidst the lush mountains is a testament to the era of the COVID-19 pandemic. The demands of quarantine during the crisis have transformed this haven into a comforting sanctuary for its owners, who frequently traverse between domestic and international engagements.
Born from the desire for seclusion amidst a mountainous milieu, this design seeks to embrace the owner's lifestyle whilst addressing quarantine necessities.
The design draws upon nature's palette, meticulously crafting a narrative that marries interior space with the verdant outdoors, a testament to the harmonious symbiosis of man and nature.
This dwelling, conserving fifty percent of its original timber structure, borrows strength from steel reinforcements, enhancing resilience. Its twinned sloping roofs gracefully shoulder deluges, their incline inviting natural cleanliness. The roof's cleverly extended edge, by 1.2 meters, guards windows and balconies from direct rainfall. Strategically placed gaps foster air circulation, offering natural respite on sweltering summer days and reducing energy consumption.
Interlacing reality with illusion, a television wall nestled amidst mountain-framed windows presents a choice between cinematic immersion or basking in the verdant tableau. Behind this wall, an outdoor balcony awaits, offering owners a chance to imbibe fresh air, relishing greenery in leisurely moments.
Sliding doors in the master bedroom amplify spatial utility, maintaining privacy while promoting visual cohesion. Foldable doors in the second room enhance adaptability, uniting with the primary space when unfolded. This flexible chamber may serve myriad purposes as the children mature and depart, underscoring its timeless relevance.
