This is a design project for a jewelry store. The site is located in a 50-year-old dilapidated community alley in the west district of Taichung. The original building was a residential property. Our starting point for the design was based on the concept of "exhibition." We demolished the surrounding walls and opened up the space facing the passersby. To bridge the height difference between the site and the road, we used graded stones to connect them and weaken the boundary of the site. This allows pedestrians to approach without pressure and increases their willingness to visit the store. Secondly, we enlarged the window area so that passersby outside the house could also appreciate the interior product display. Lastly, we removed the ordinary paint layer from the old house, exposing the extraordinary soul within, and used this as a powerful declaration to kick off the design:
"I Remember," the original brand of MIT that has been deeply rooted in Taiwan for more than 20 years, is determined to redefine its brand value. We have undertaken the owner's request and defined five themes based on the five stages of life: "Infinite Attraction," "Heart to Heart Embrace," "Day and Moon Bloom," "Sweetheart Lounge," and "Forest Waltz." The overall design concept is based on the mood of these five themes. For example, in "Infinite Attraction," we used large areas of highly reflective glass to create an immersive experience of "ascending" and "descending." We hope to bring customers a completely different shopping experience through innovative brand sales models.
