FOCA was established in 2011. Its purpose is to develop the various contemporary circus arts and FOCA is the first Taiwanese circus team to perform at the Festival d'Avignon off in France and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the UK. FOCA first set foot on the international stage ten years ago, and that has been the spark that started the dream of FOCASA.


Our goal is to, on one hand, introduce international circus performers to the people of Taiwan, and on the other, introduce Taiwan’s circus to the world.

Through the first official FOCASA, we aim to promote the circus arts of Asia, propagate Taiwan’s culture, and establish FOCASA as a national brand.


We combined the name FOCA with the Spanish word CASA, to represent that the circus tent is our home—not just for the people of FOCA, but for all the circus people. One of our most important goal in FOCA is to introduce circus to everyone, into their everyday life, so that maybe one day, all people may become circus people.

The main tent, is named Village-13. The “Village” part is named for what we want it to be, which is the central hall for a village where all the villagers get together for festivities.
