the Author's Room Hotel integrates a bookstore, café, and accommodation into a hybrid cultural space. Inspired by traditional Lingnan arcade architecture, the design uses colonnades, stepped terraces, and semi-outdoor courtyards to create openness and a strong connection with nature. Red fair-faced concrete is paired with warm interior materials and subtle Cantonese details, shaping a welcoming environment that combines local culture, public engagement, and everyday comfort.
