Bear Bakery in Beidou, the project challenges material limits. The team extended 12,808 local red bricks, sourced within 15 km, from the facade indoors, translating the memory of baking and proofing bread into a space. Handcrafted spiral brick columns, built via a rare invisible hardware technique, allow light to shift over time. Restructuring the old store to resolve congestion, the design uses sustainable craft to embed the daily ritual of buying bread into the town's everyday life.
