This is the theme exhibition of the 2022 Taiwan Design Expo, named "MAKE PRO: City of Creativity - Kaohsiung." Since the period of Japanese colonial rule, Kaohsiung has developed its foundation in heavy industry. Today, it has evolved into a comprehensive "manufacturing" hub that encompasses a wide range of industries, including heavy industry, necessities, technology, and more. The concept of "Kaohsiung manufacturing" has quietly integrated into the lives of the Taiwanese people. However, despite the progress of time and changes in the economic environment, the public's perception of Kaohsiung remains stuck in the stereotype of its early heavy industrial era. Therefore, it is important to showcase the diverse industries of Kaohsiung in the exhibition, allowing people to rediscover the city's industrial landscape and demonstrate Kaohsiung's steadfast manufacturing capabilities and creativity.

To gain a deeper understanding of Kaohsiung's industries, we visited 30 local manufacturing factories in the area. We interviewed founders and employees, observed the manufacturing processes, and explored factory life. Ultimately, we integrated the experiences from 20 local manufacturing factories to create a virtual brand called "MAKE PRO" to introduce the powerful energy of Kaohsiung's industries to the public. In addition to a comprehensive brand identity design, the exhibition design takes inspiration from the mining landscape of factories, creating a theater-like space with a perspective view that penetrates at a glance, allowing visitors to look from modern manufacturing towards future creation.
