We believe that the industrial waste from the pulp and paper industry is not truly waste; it's merely awaiting rebirth and a moment of returning home. From creating a brick, a wall and a pavement to connecting the past and the future, weaving together the cycles of people and places, we all exert our expertise and use ingenuity to stride towards a zero-waste future.
The integrated design solution was initiated internally by CHP. We began by collaborating with the Sustainable Environment Research Laboratories at National Cheng Kung University to conduct material science research, transforming pulp and paper waste into renewable products. We then partnered with Taiwanese architectural design team, ARMU d+a, to demonstrate the exemplary operation in the entrance space of our pulp mill, which has been standing for 50 years by Hualien River.Our purpose isn't to launch a marketable consumer product, but the key idea is to integrate the complete value of materials, technology, manufacturing, design and craftsmanship. We aim to connect the innovative energy of local enterprise, communities, workers all together.The integrated operation allows people to witness the transformation of waste resources into tangible products. Simultaneously, it conveys the company’s attitude by utilizing local sourced material and local labor, reducing carbon emissions from transportation. We are committed to creating low-carbon, zero-waste environmental engineering that nurtures abundant local revitalization energy. When contemplating the future of industries, it’s not solely about endless profit making production. The creation of people and the environment is the way of social design. We are here to solve the problem of industrial waste, and together, we enhance the value of people and places
