The book consists of three volumes, designed in the form of scroll-like tubes, inspired by the concept of using "Da Jia Le" era newspaper as book covers. The content is divided into an introduction, investigation, and conclusion. The "Introduction" section includes the background of abandoned deity statues, religious rituals, and taboos. The book design incorporates Taiwanese customs, where red cloth is used to wrap the statues during transportation to prevent the entry of other spirits. Once unwrapped, the complete form of the deity statues is revealed. The "Investigation" section captures the impact of abandoned deity statues in the wild and their large-scale accumulation through photography. The "Conclusion" section shares stories that aid the understanding of the statues, interviews with statue restoration experts and collectors, and presents different perspectives. Through this documentation, we aim to guide readers from a state of non-comprehension to understanding the subject matter from various standpoints.
