In recent years, Taiwan Power Company (TPC) has been actively exploring various possibilities in public art. In 2019, TPC organized a two-month event called: "Electri City I" at Central Park in Kaohsiung. Building upon the success, "Electri City II" continues the project with a theme centered around "childhood," dedicated to every child who is about to grow up and to the adults who were once children. In the face of countless children's issues in today's society, this project aims to evoke empathy and concern among the general public for global children's issues. Through art, the intention is to soothe the inner wounds and compensate for every child who has experienced shortcomings, allowing them to create beautiful memories in their childhood.
With art as its core, this project explores generational differences and foster dialogues. It utilizes the metro and light rail to integrate and connect public art installations in Kaohsiung City. The intervention of temporary art installations or artworks in Central Park (long-term art adoption by TPC) allows art to flow through the city, enabling the general public to stumble upon art surprises in different corners of the city while strolling around. As if it were a game of hide-and-seek from childhood, embraced with anticipation and joy and filled with happiness.
