Magnolia Lab is a young liqueur brand that reinvented Chinese traditional herbal liqueurs, creating products that value taste, design, and user experience. Our promise of "every sip is a journey" involves creating liqueurs using oriental herbs inspired by traditional Chinese medicine and modern mixology concepts. Our brand identity blends the wisdom of traditional herbology with modern mixology, while valuing cultural heritage, personal experiences, and present-day palates. Our design aligns with our values, bridging the past and present, and blending Eastern and Western influences.

We recognise that design plays a critical role in creating a positive first impression on customers. We strive to overcome the negative connotations that traditional medicinal wines have in Hong Kong by presenting our products in a visually appealing way. Our brand design incorporates a blend of traditional and modern elements, inspired by Chinese herbology and mixology.

Our logo portrays the two founders, a Chinese medicine practitioner and a mixologist, in a style that draws inspiration from the Meiji Restoration era. The printings were created by two local artists using sign-painting techniques and Chinese calligraphy. Our bottles themselves reflect the shapes of Chinese medicine calabashes and western apothecary jars. The labels feature portraits and sketches of herbs symbolising the journeys of both mind and palate. The wrapping papers combine traditional dispensary wrappers with present-day cocktail recipes and tasting notes.

Overall, our design element shapes our brand identity, bridging cultures and creating captivating experiences. We promote traditional wisdom and inspire reflection and challenging of preconceptions.
