The base is located at the foot of Alishan Mountain. We hope to preserve the original environment and landform, try to transform the unique topography of the base. We use the height difference of the base, and integrate the surrounding landscape elements to form a series of scenario. At the same time, here is not only a kitchen, but also a multi-functional teaching space.
Zhuqi High School has a unique geographical location, located at the foot of Alishan Mountain. The site is located in both the hillside and the fault zone, so the space scale is limited. The existing kitchen space is located on the edge of the campus, close to the teaching and administrative space. We hope to reconstruct the relationship between the kitchen place and the original school land, open the new central kitchen to the campus. The new central kitchen can continue the slope characteristics of the campus, minimize excavation, also respect the natural environment of regional buildings.
The form of the architecture echoes the climate of the Zhuqi area under the Alishan Mountain. We aim to construct a comfortable and energy-saving physical environment. The volume is designed with high ceilings, and the use of terrain drop naturally forms the food preparation area, loading area and unloading area. The large floor-to-ceiling windows surround the corridor, reconstruct a series of walking routes, so that the kitchen is no longer just a kitchen, but a new form of space for teachers and students to experience. In terms of shape, the bamboo molded wall is constructed using the local "Timber Bamboo" in Zhuqi. This wall stands at the node of the main moving line of the campus, becomes a low-key and warm corner of the campus.
