"Ludowy" is a variable font created as a part of the new visual identity design for Ludowy Theatre in Krakow. It originated in the 50s in Nowa Huta, a social realist district and is closely connected to the local community. We wanted to pay tribute to the Theatre's history and legacy and took one of its most iconic symbols - the neon sign on the front facade - as the basis for a new variable typeface "Ludowy". The Theatre's new visual identity, signage and wayfinding are based on this typeface.
