The design bears a story of a Filipino family, channeling the father as a single parent and provider. His compassion pushed us to highlight this humanity in the father’s ultimate resting place with utmost thoughtfulness and sensitivity. With the primary approach of creating a space akin to a home, the design diverges from the ostentatious norms of honoring the dead by monumental structures. Through movements and tactility, the design uses architecture to manifest one’s journey to the afterlife.
