The residence is located by the shore of Shimen Reservoir, where the misty lakeside evokes the memories of the owner's childhood home. Therefore we wishes to make it a bridge to recollect his childhood memories. Through buffering the boundary between outdoor and indoor with engawa (the porch), isolated bathroom on the outdoor, full-cover of tatami mats and doma (earthen floor) in the entrance and dinning, kitchen area, we transformed the residence from western hotel into Japanese onsen-hotel.
